Fashion Designing Responsibilities
1. Coordinate with our lead designer to create and develop design ideas through corel, Photoshop et cetera according to company needs
2. Coordinate with our lead designer to plan ahead for color scheme, accessories and all materials used for existing and future projects
3. Plan and maintain records for all material procurement all vendors (vendor management)
4. Excellent written and verbal communication skills required
5. Ability to prioritize, manage multiple projects, detail-oriented, meet deadlines and keep records
6. Devising a protocol for the suppliers/vendors including quality control, accuracy and flexibility
7. Collect garment samples, trims and different types of swatches from the vendors and follow up with them
8. Coordinate and maintain (display studio and) the sampling department
9. Give approval on samples where head designers intervention is not required
10. Identify the target market, to find out latest design trends
11. Provide samples and consignments to distributors, agents and for dispatch to the clients
12. Research latest material (fabrics, threads etc.) and new vendors
13. Assess the quality of manufactured garment
14. Examine samples on and off models in order to assess the quality and achieve the desired effects
15. Counsel Production Management Team for correct fittings and other creative inputs
16. Keep up-to-date with all relevant knowledge like new design, materials, technology and machinery et cetera
17. Estimate quantifiable characteristics of products, events and information, like estimate size, distance, quality or time, cost, resources or materials needed to perform a work activity
18. Supervise and/or help in handling objects and equipment
19. Maintain company standards when communicating and/or performing transaction with the third parties e.g., vendors, clients, partners et cetera
20. Coordinate with product management head to create and update a static and a dynamic detailed protocols of your department
21. Provide a copy of records to all appropriate departments
Production Management Responsibilities
Production manager would be involved in the preproduction (planning) stage as well as the production (control and supervision) stage. A large part of production management involves dealing with people, particularly those who work in your team.
Production manager's role tends to be more closely integrated with other functions, such as marketing, sales and finance. Please find following description of the work responsibilities for a production management job.
1. Planning, drawing up, organizing and overseeing production schedules
2. Assessing project and resources requirements and ensuring that the production is cost effective
3. Analyzing past sales figures/trends to anticipate future products needs
4. Estimating, negotiating and agreeing budgets and timescales with clients and managers
5. Liaising among different people, e.g. suppliers, managers, supervisors, partners, co-workers et cetera
6. Working with managers to implement company's policies and goals
7. Monitoring product standards and implementing quality-control programs
8. Determining on time delivery of the products and quality control standards
9. Overseeing production processes and adjusting schedules as needed
10. Re-negotiating timescales or schedules as necessary
11. Selecting, ordering and purchasing materials
12. Procuring and keeping track of the inventory or raw material and finished products
13. Being responsible for the selection, maintenance, repair of production equipment
14. Liaison with buyers, marketing and sales staff
15. Supervising the work of junior staff
16. Plan for new seasons sampling and production orders
17. Participate in conducting and managing the logistics of our brands photo shoot sessions at outdoor and indoor locations
18. Visit manufacturers, stores and suppliers and negotiate prices, quantities and delivery time-scales
19. Ensuring that health and safety guidelines are followed
20. Supervising and motivating a team of workers
21. Reviewing worker performance and identifying training needs
22. Archive all products and samples correctly for future references.
23. Maintain files and accounts and update time and Action calendar.
24. Maintain daily records of all your activities. Create a knowledge/information reference base by creating (and keeping updated) a departmental protocols, manuals and technical publications
